Chromebook Issues

Good Evening Families,

I wanted to update you on the situation with Chromebooks.  First off, I want to apologize if you picked a Chromebook up today and it didn't work.  A few weeks ago our tech staff went through all of them to reset and update them for the upcoming school year.  Everything seemed fine but today many of you could not log in due to an error with the update.  I know this was a huge inconvenience and it caused many of you and your students unnecessary stress.  Unfortunately, the computers that show an "error" will need to be returned to the Pittsburg Learning Center so our tech staff can update them.  I have reached out to our technology department and they will be delivering new Chromebooks to the Pittsburg Learning Center tomorrow morning.   All families, regardless of which program you are enrolled in can come pick up your Chromebook(s) beginning tomorrow morning at 9:30.  If you have a Chromebook that shows the error, please bring it with you so we can swap it out.

Elementary Virtual Students:  I realize our elementary virtual students are expected to be on a zoom meeting with their teachers beginning at 9:10.  Your teachers know that we are having issues with these computers and will understand if you are not able to get online right away in the morning.  Either way, feel free to reach out to your teacher to let them know you need to pick a Chromebook up in the morning, just so they know!

All students: When you come pick up your Chromebook, please have your log in information ready so you can try to log in at school before leaving.  This way we can make sure the computer you have is ready to go.

Again, I am so sorry for the way this rolled out for many of you today.  You have been so patient and gracious as we try to get a new program up and running.  We are so excited to get into a routine for all of our programs but mostly we are excited to see our students!!  Our staff has been working so hard to get things in line to start the school year.  If you have an opportunity to share your gratitude, I know it would be much appreciated.

Mr. Edwards
