Hi-Cap Nomination Period April 3-16

Each year, in accordance with RCW 28A.185.030, school districts across Washington are required to implement procedures for the nomination, assessment, and selection of students for highly-capable designation.  Nominations may be received for any K-12 student from teachers, other staff, parents, students, and members of the community.

Daily Health Attestation Survey Information

Prior to midnight before an in-person school day, parents need to "attest" to their child's health by completing the Daily Health Attestation Survey through an online service that will be sent to them via email or text at 3:30 p.m. Sunday through Thursday. Read more...

Running Start Information

The Mead School District has partnered with Community Colleges of Spokane and EWU for a Running Start Informational meeting.  This will be available through zoom on March 2nd from 6:00-7:00.  Families or students will need to pre-register for the event. Foreign Language Test for High School Credit

We will be once again offering foreign language testing for students who are highly skilled in a second language and want to earn high school credit. REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN! January 20, 2021 will be our first testing session. Cost is $20 for in-person and $35 for remote students.

College Bound Scholarship for Middle School Students

The College Bound Scholarship is a unique college scholarship opportunity for Washington middle school students to prepare for and pursue postsecondary education. Special 9th grade extension due to COVID. Click for more information.

Picture Days 2020

Five Mile Prairie School pictures will be taken on Monday, November 16 and Wednesday, November 18 from 10:00 AM -12:00 PM in the Library Portable. Pictures will also be available at the PLC (Northstar) location on Thursday, November 19 from 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM in room 302. Families may get pictures taken at either location at the scheduled times. Order envelopes are at both schools.

2020-2021 Reopening Plan

To provide flexibility, the Mead School Board has approved offering a choice in learning options to its families. The district will offer daily in-person learning for grades K-5 and a rotating in-person schedule for grades 6-12. Additionally, remote online learning options are available. Read more . . .
